The Boomers are retiring, and they don’t necessarily want the same type of living arrangements as the previous generation. Those who own and operate Assisted Living facilities are trying hard to figure out how to attract the retiring Boomers.
Today, there are more and more conveniences for those who are staying home than have ever been available before. That translates to people being able to hold on to their independence longer.
What are those conveniences?
Home delivery services. If you don’t want to have to cook, no problem, you can get food delivered. You can order from those services that deliver meals that are tailored to your specific dietary needs, and you simply pop them in the microwave.
Or you can order food from your favorite restaurant and have it delivered to your door.
If you have a tablet, you can have routine medical issues checked via the internet.
There are Mobile nursing services, mobile physicians, physical therapists, and caregivers.
If your home is sound and free of trip hazards, then staying there is not a problem.
If you no longer wish to drive, there is Lyft or Uber to get you from place to place.
There are mobile physical therapists who will come to your home, There are also mobile blood drawing services which will come to the patient and deliver the results to your physicians.
The bottom line is staying at home is more of an option today than it has been for a long time. And don’t forget, Coastal Concierge can help make aging in place an option for you or your loved ones.
