For each of us, there comes a time when we might want to admit we need a little help. Yes, you have always been strong, independent and confident, but sometimes all of us need a little help. The most difficult part about aging is the our ability to complete certain tasks just fades away. Especially as we age. No matter how hard we try, illness, surgeries and a more fragile body will take it’s toll on us. That’s why we started Coastal Concierge. To offer quality service to people who just need some help.
The Mother of a friend had hip surgery, and because she lived alone and her family members all worked, she was not able to return home afterwards. Instead she was taken to a local rehab facility. She was deeply unhappy, and the facility she was placed in was not her cup of tea. Had she known about Coastal Concierge, she could have called us and we would have helped her in her home during the recovery period. One person could have taken excellent care of her until she began to get strong enough to be on her own. So often, when people are able to recover in their own homes in a familiar environment with a dedicated health care professional, they heal faster, and are less likely to have a relapse.
No matter how strong and capable you have always been, sometimes it’s just good to have a little help.
If you are the primary care giver for a spouse or a loved one, trying to carry the load of caregiving all by yourself can be too much. Instead, make a list of everything you do for that loved one, and decide which of those tasks you can hire someone to do. Perhaps you can also give yourself some time off as well. Becoming a primary caregiver can cause stress and anxiety, and sometimes the caregivers themselves can end up wearing themselves out.
If you still aren’t certain you need help and then give us a call and we can talk about what we can do and if it sounds like just what you need.
